On Sunday, I attended the consecration ceremony for a new Edmonton Jewish cemetery. The original was opened in 1907 - and is slowly nearing capacity. (It’s where I go to “visit” my father, my uncles, my grandparents and all my other family of blessed memory.) The new cemetery, in NW Edmonton, will be a green & peaceful place; its consecration symbolizes the vibrancy & evolution of the local Jewish community.
