So, those #EV chargers on the #MassPike that were broken/offline for the holiday weekend (6 of 7 chargers)?

#RadioBoston reports that they aren't getting fixed. Just not coming back online.

I love my #ElectricVehicle, I really do--but it is very hard to convince others that they are ready for prime time. Sigh.

A look at electric vehicle infrastructure in Massachusetts | Radio Boston

The Commonwealth plans to spend a good chunk of its federal infrastructure money on an electric vehicle revolution. The state wants 300,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2025. Can the state handle that expansion?

@mem_somerville That is terrible! Did they say why they won't be fixed?

@oberbrunner Yeah, they said that these are so old that they are really dated anyway at this point. And there will be a provisioning process to eventually get some there.... But all of that was very bureaucratic RFPs and review and all that.

So that could be years away.

@mem_somerville The long-term solution will be #hydrogen cars. They also electric cars just without the dependency on slow chargers and huge batteries. We will need green cars that works just like conventional cars. We do not need innovation for innovation's sake.
@mem_somerville
Poor maintenance of charging stations is the bulk of my range anxiety for long trips.
Sucks to coast into a charger only to find the station is down, and now I have to find a 120v outlet (im in USA) and sleep in my car for 2 days).
