There’s another tape. Yes, another. And it’s pretty bad for Trump. It’s kind of tape you play for the jury. Is it a ketchup on the walls of Bedminster day? Quite possibly. I explain why in today’s piece.

Trump Was Just Caught in the Act

The odds of an indictment of ex-president Trump on charges of espionage, illegal removal of government documents and obstruction of justice just shot up. Perhaps way up. On Wednesday evening, CNN reported that a tape exists (there’s always a tape) of Trump in a meeting at his Bedminster golf club resort in New Jersey in July of 2021. At least two Trump aides attended the meeting, including Margo Martin, a communications specialist who recorded the meeting at Trump’s instruction. Other attendees included aides to former chief of staff Mark Meadows.

@jaykuo After 7 years worth of tapes & evidence of all sorts of things I’m just tired. Wake me up if the prick is arrested, ok? Otherwise, it’s just more noise about a rich untouchable politician
@jaykuo and yet a significant proportion of Americans believed and continue to believe that this second rate conman is an excellent choice for US president. I understand people less and less it seems.
@xerge @jaykuo 2nd-rate marks fall for 2nd-rate con artists. I guess in what passes for logic in their empty heads he's as good as one of their preachers because he takes money from duped donors and sloppily covers up his sex scandals?
@jaykuo You did not, in fact, explain 'a ketchup on the walls of Bedminster day.'
@jaykuo Honest question. Everyone is saying this tape shows that he knew the process of declassifying documents.
Wouldn't the fact that he properly declassified Crossfire Hurricane documents before leaving office show the exact same thing? And we've known that forever.

@jaykuo

If he truly believed this, then he doesn't understand the presidency and is completely unqualified to be president, but there's sufficient evidence at this point that he's unqualified.

"If he truly believed he was taking and keeping documents that were no longer government secrets, then, so he figures, the espionage charge (which requires a showing of willfulness) might not stick.

@jaykuo Yes, broken dishes and a clash of silverware hitting too.
@jaykuo is it arrogance or stupidity, only his warden will know
@jaykuo he’s just gonna claim he had the divine right to determine who is authorized to receive the info. It doesn’t have to be true or even realistic, it just has to delay the courts until he dies from a cheeseburger heart attack.
@jaykuo "Ketchup on the wall" is really a no good, rotten day
