"At half past three o'clock came to the foot of Coals Falls [Lacolle rapids], where all hands saving the Boutes per each boat were obliged to track.
"Wednesday. At 2 pm we reached Rapide de Croche, and at half past four the men put away the tracking lines and took to their oars. Camped at half past seven. Some parts the channel very shallow indeed. On the beach some of the men in the Guide's boat found a slip of Birch Bark... #History #SaskatchewanHistory
