Canada to set up cyber security certification for defence contractors - minister — Reuters

Canada will work with the United States to draft a cyber security certification framework for defence contractors that will be identical for both countries as incidents of malicious hacking increase, the defence minister said on Wednesday.

@leerayl At least it's only for defense contractors and not something truly industry wide like Engineering.

@thracky the size of Defense is was bigger than I can fully grasp. In addition, the requirements for 4th and 5th party supply chain is going to require more in 4-5 years in the Engineering space is expecting.

This cross border partnership is going to lay the groundwork for more Government involvement over the entire North American supply chain for software.

Anyone who is writing SBOM’s today will tell you, Engineering is going to feel it.
