Currently suffering with the #JournalPaper version of #TechnicalDebt, all the “minor” formatting requirements which they’re willing to waive/overlook during the initial submission and review process, but which come back to bite you.

e.g. Getting reference formatting & figure labels just so, combining composite figures into a single file, …

To be fair, some of these checks from the production team were things the reviewers missed, like improving image color-blind accessibility
