Bear Island
(Bjørnøya)
2014

In the Barents Sea, between North Cape and Spitsbergen, lies the uninhabited Bear Island. The Wegge brothers Inge, Håkon and Markus set out on the adventure of a lifetime: they travel to the island and spend months alone in the wilderness. As if that weren't enough, the three try out different kinds of extreme sports: Surfing, snowboarding, paragliding.

Not everything goes according to plan; sometimes a boat gets stuck in the ice. In addition, the three brothers, left to their own devices, must also get along with each other. Probably for the first time in their lives, they deal with the perspectives of their brothers. The film also tells of conflicts, cohesion and extreme situations through personal conversations.
Inge Wegge has a good eye for images and so the film is visually very impressive. Some scenes are simply breathtaking.
