Question:
If an editing/translation client gives an explanatory comment about a revision, I would normally reply with “Thank you for your explanation.”
Some of my coworkers write “Understood. Thank you”
How does “Understood. Thank you” sound to you?
@NateLepley usually yeah for English editing and J to E translations.
We leave comments in Japanese for Japanese editing and E to J translation (but I don’t do those)

To me, “Understood. Thank you” feels abrubt and possibly rude in "real" English, but perhaps OK if it were in Japanese (I'd consult a native speaker on that).
When communicating with Japanese non-native speakers in English, writing "Japanese in English" may be useful sometimes depending on who you are writing to.
But in general I think I'd reply as you did so as to avoid possibly seeming impolite.
