just released the first part of a new two-part blog post series about how modern ai tools will affect the role of a software engineer in the next years. the first part discusses why modern ai tools will massively affect the role: https://www.ufried.com/blog/chatgpt_already_knows/. enjoy if you like ... ;)

(the second part of the series will discuss how we can preserve our value as software engineers)

ChatGPT already knows - Part 1

Disrupting the role of the software engineer

@ufried Nicely put. I agree with the points you’ve made there.
@adrianco darn, that raises the bar for the second part of the post ... :) ... i am really curious what you will think of that part (and maybe which additional thoughts you may like to add). but first i need to turn my notes for that post into something readable ... ;)
@ufried Full ack, especially on the parts about MDA, Low Code et al.
What we have seen in the past is that with every productivity increase through better tooling, we get larger and more complex applications/systems. AI is likely to have the same effect.
@ufried looking fwd to part 2….

@antonio me, too ... :)

i am really curious (in a constructive way) about the feedback regarding the observations and suggestions i will make then.

but first i need to turn my notes into something readable ... ;)
