There are times I forget just how long I've been in the IT industry, and it sometimes clouds my perspective on how important it is to help others learn new skills.
I've been doing all this now for 28 years professionally, and if you include my school years #coding as a hobby, four decades(!) as of this year. That's a damn long time to be #programming computers, and it's why many colleagues look up to me for answers now.
I have to remind myself, and others, that this world of knowledge does not fit in a single brain. We're all continually learning something new, and various blogs and tutorials that might seem trivial to me could be exactly the thing someone else needs to unlock new understanding.
Besides, I'm going to be retired eventually, so somebody needs to take up the mantle once I'm out of the industry. Might as well pass along that experience while I can.
