The more I read on this, the more it seems like the filing is about convincing magaworld to just pay her to avoid litigation.

I mean, avoiding court is supposed to be the point even under normal circumstances. Its just that this feels like its going to get the left all riled up, and then there will be a confidential settlement payed out of all those donations the orange man has been milking his followers for, and we will never actually see any of the evidence.

I didn't mean to imply anything about her motivations. The system is set up so that the only justice available to most victims is to get paid. Those aren't her rules, but she has to play by them any way. So the fact she (or any underdog) goes as hard as they can to get paid is not an indictment against them.

It would be a different matter if she were a billionaire like peter thiel trying to destroy a newspaper because they are a thin-skinned crybaby. But she is not.

@jaykuo To say it was a "gut-punch" is an understatement. Holy hell. I've worked with victims of DV and SA, and his coercion is abhorrent, to say the least. If our justice system does not prevail in this case, and he doesn't come out with some very harsh consequences, especially given her recordings an documentation, then what little hope I do have in our justice system will be completely lost.

@jaykuo Furthermore, I really hope that her detailed accounts, recordings, and trove of documents in the form of his emails lead to some much stronger indictments against others. I don't think I need to explain myself there, either.

He specifically hired her knowing that she was a victim of domestic abuse, and thus that she was psychologically vulnerable.

'Gut-punch' is right.
