Good morning. 🍄🍄🍄

Since I was a child, I've heard the saying: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Where did that saying come from? The sentiment was first expressed in the 3rd Century BC in Greek. Shakespeare later in 1588 expressed the sentiment but not in those words. The person credited with the English verse, as I quoted, is a 19th century Irish writer, Margaret Hungerford in the book Molly Bawn, 1878 (phrases.org.uk). Interesting, huh ... ya gotta love the internet.

There are people, adults, alive today who don't remember life without the internet or cell phones. Well, at least they will never need to deal with and encyclopedia salesman. In the words of a popular Sci-Fi character, "fascinating."

@Swede1952 This looks groose to me! What is it, really a mushroom?

@peacefulrebel

Yep, it's really a mushroom though I think I might not have identified the species correctly. I depend on an app. It may be that it was still forming. Cheers!

@Swede1952

Such a fascinating quote by George Monbiot! I looked up the source and the article did something that only the finest of writings do: it reframed my understanding of the world.

And such a pretty shroomie! I wish I'd seen those fields abundant with mushrooms that George mentioned.
