Tonight was the perfect mix of humid but cool as I walked the back streets of Akihabara. Dozens of lanterns hung in front of local store fronts, and I serendipitously stumbled across mikoshi (portable shrine) processions with drums and other musical accompaniment for the very last night of Kanda Matsuri. Many shrine bearers from neighborhood associations wore matching tops, so it was easy to pick them out through steamy restaurant windows as they rested for dinner. #神田祭 #kandamatsuri #tokyo
