#SolarPump Update - making progress with rebuilding the #rainwater pump, I’ve had to replace the electronics (and managed to reduce the number of parts). I’ve also changed the enclosure and am using a wooden bird box (but will have to block off the opening as no space for birds - they’ve got lots of other boxes nearby).
I think the reason the last enclosure flooded was due to a pump connector leak so I’ve positioned the pump at the bottom and built a small shelf for the electronics.

Jobs left to do:
* add a pull down resistor to make the pump switch off when the #PicoW is in deep sleep
* adjust the thresholds for pump on and off
* make some nice graphs as the pump is uploading data to my home network
* lots of testing

My solar powered water pump has finally stopped working, the silicone tubing in the peristaltic pump has degraded and started to leak.

Considering this version has been outside since 2023 and has been pumping unfiltered rain water I think it's done pretty well.

The good news is that if I replace the silicone tubing Ill be able to rebuild it and get it working again. I might simplify the control circuitry as it got a bit complicated.

Then it can get back to helping me avoid carrying water up from the bottom to the top as it's a 2.5M climb and I'm a little lazy.
