Can’t get enough of these commercials about depressed people who already take antidepressants and now need to take additional booster antidepressants— so hopeful! I’d call my doctor right now if my current antidepressant was actually working.
@JoParkerBear That's a depressing thing to hear.
@JoParkerBear then there's that pill for the tardive discanesia for when your anti depressant(s) give you uncontrollable body twitching yay
@JoParkerBear "Well for one thing Nancy, as your doctor I'm a little concerned about you carrying around that smiley face on a stick all the time. Has anyone talked to you about that? It's kind of weird."
@JoParkerBear I can only imagine how that must land 🫣 … for all the missteps and asymmetry of regulation in Australia* I’m pleased that our Therapeutic Goods Administration prohibits advertising of prescription-only medicines to the general public.

@JoParkerBear

Wall to wall gambling + advertising continues practically unchecked due to powerful gambling lobby having unfettered access to policy makers, despite horror statistic of highest gambling losses in the world.

In Australia, slot machines are everywhere. So is gambling addiction.

Australia is home to 0.3 percent of the world’s population but 20 percent of its “pokies.” The country leads the planet with an average $1,000 in gambling losses per adult per year.

@JoParkerBear

As someone who sees these commercials, has had close relationships with people who take such prescriptions, it doesn't do anything to make me feel better about taking any such medication, even though I probably desperately need them.

@HCBunny single antidepressants have worked for me in the past and present— mostly
@HCBunny Forward to your friends, they will thank you one day.
