This makes India the first democracy to act like Russian or Iranian autocrats.

India first democracy to ban encrypted messaging apps on massive scale.

@Tutanota @briar @element @threemaapp India has never been a democracy. Muslim have being persecuted in years there jus because they are Muslims

@Tutanota @briar @element @threemaapp Uhh... have you not been paying attention to the US not only engaging in mass-scale spying on its citizens in every way they can make possible, but recently shoving through legislation to enshrine doing so? And to black-hole apps and information the government doesn't like (as well as criminalizing the use of VPNs etc to try to get apps or information, if it evades the government's "mitigation measures")?

Oh right, you said "democracy". Never mind, my bad.

@Tutanota @briar @element @threemaapp
