I am likely to drop Tenmaku Cinema this week unless it wows me. I just...I don't know. There's something about it that's just not clicking for me and I just find myself not caring about it.

Akane-Banashi - To truly learn the story she wants to tell in the upcoming showcase, Akane needs to learn what it is like to be drunk. Since she's underage and can't drink alcohol, that means running back to the restaurant to people watch while serving.

This also got her to ask the question - what kind of rakugoka is she? It's a good thing to consider and one she'll need to know as she continues to practice and hone her craft. Solid chapter.

Do Retry - Story of a brother and sister duo who are living on the streets after WW2 in Japan as their home was destroyed & Mom died after US attacks.

No, it's not #GraveOfTheFireflies.

That's the setting of Do Retry. The kid's Dad was a boxer before the war & the son always wanted to do that too.

The first chapter ends with what appears to be him getting that opportunity after he gets enough money to help his sick sister.

I'm not sure where this will end up going, but it's got underground boxing tournaments so...let's hear it out.

Fabricant 100 - Ashibi is off duty for a bit and forced to relax. Ends up doing some farming with a lovely new character we're introduced to who was saved from Fabricants. They have a family, they're thriving.

And they get murdered.

And the big bad (Number 1) arrives.

My Hero Academia - Holy crap.

They leaned really hard into Endeavor, fatherhood, and Toya this chapter and it really, really worked. And the ending of the chapter.

Wow.

It was a lot and emotionally heavy. Phew.

One Piece - The Cross Guild, with Buggy as the symbolic figurehead that the world sees, has taken out a popular Vice Admiral in the Navy. Which is a huge deal.

But, back on the new lead ship (that was designed with either Buggy or ICP in mind) was revealed and the two real brains removed Buggy's head to talk strategy. That's when Buggy actually went behind them and convinced the full crew to start searching for the One Piece.

Buggy is a fool & a tool, but he knows how to rally a crowd.
