For those of us, including myself, bemoaning the present spring weather here in the UK, here's a few images of the River Exe in full spate near #TheMillOnTheExe, #Exeter on 7th July 2012.

@Jon6705
I recall many years ago whilst an engineering student at #ExeterUniversity watching that and having our fluid dynamics tutor explaining super critical flow [analogous to supersonic flow in a gas], hydraulic jumps [to subcritical flow], Stilling basins etc etc.
Fun to watch but the maths made my head hurt.
Nice pub there too. 👍

@ColonelDare

The mechanics used to divert water into the flood relief channel at Exwick, when it reaches a critical level, is quite something.

@Jon6705 in my corner of south of the U.K., I enjoyed working under the sun this morning although it became too hot, then few drops, then hot, then big rain. I changed tops several times today. Adapting to all these changes in the same day is really tiring. Not sure how long our bodies can cop with these variations of temperature. One minute too hot then too cold. Poor plants and animals must be totally lost.
