#BrainCancerAwareness

I’ve lost 2 closely related family members to brain cancer.

My mom died from a primary brain tumor, meaning the tumor originated there. Her father - my grandfather - died from metastatic brain cancer that started as lung cancer & spread to his brain.

Approximately 200,000 cancer patients/year are diagnosed with brain metastases; the most common primary cancers are breast, lung, colon & skin. These metastases can create a more serious dx & new set of cognitive & physical challenges that complicate quality of life.
