So here's the truth:

The people selling AI right now like the theories that AI will eventually take over, because it makes their creation seem much more adept than it actually is, which makes them seem much more adept than they actually are.

The real risk in AI is not in it taking over. It's in the tendency of less technical people to trust it without facts in evidence that merit that trust. We see this kind of adoption happening at a frankly alarming rate.

Unfortunately, as a result human nature, the usage of every powerful tool traverses the #usage #spectrum from #Malfeasance, #Misfeasance, #Nonfeasance, ... #Benevolence. I fear that any pause, #regulation, @guardrails, ... will just lengthen the time that Artificial Intelligence #AI will be stuck at the Malfeasance end of the usage spectrum. 😞
