Single-cell transcriptome analyses reveal critical roles of RNA splicing during leukemia progression

This study explores the transformation of hematopoietic stem cells into full-blown acute myeloid leukemia by analyzing the transcriptomes of 18,900 pre-leukemic and leukemic cells at different stages. This emphasizes the critical roles of RNA splicing, including a novel tumor specific alternative splicing event in Tmem134, in the emergence and maintenance of leukemia.
