The new diagnosis of a brain tumour is scary & overwhelming. It involves a lot of reading up on things very quickly to make informed decisions for treatment.

Finding the right doctor & asking the right questions is important. If possible, get specialists in the field - neurosurgeons who specialize in brain tumors to do your surgery & neuro-oncologists to guide your care & treatment. These specialists may not always be located in your area, so seeing them may require travel.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions that help you to see if your clinician is qualified to provide your care. All doctors want to do the best job for their patients & finding one who is knowledgeable, experienced, and also is a good fit for YOU is very important to the experience of a brain tumour/brain cancer.

Many thanks to Emily McIntosh who prepared these.
