Joshua Small@ems I know most people will have a political position on chudbuds being hacked, but this could happen to owners of any instance and their description of what occurred is worthwhile reading to everyone securing anything.
@jsmall I am very disappointed to hear the incident. Hope that happens sometime. I don't know how much personal information of mine or others has gone into the hands of hackers. But I will say this, other admins should be more strict about security from this incident.
@ems Where I can appreciate this gets difficult for people like @jerry is that reading the write up, it's not really a "secure the instance" type issue, but a threat that goes down the "use physically separate machines for privileged operations" path. And if this a profitable business I would argue for that, but I have to admit if I was running a project from home I'd be taking a shortcut there.
