it's with incredible sadness that we read Jake Hanrahan's report (https://nitter.edist.ro/Jake_Hanrahan/status/1651628711765065729) that Dmitry "Leshiy" Petrov, one of the founders of the Russian Anarcho Communist Combat Organization (BOAK), had been killed today in Ukraine.

Like many Belarusian and Russian Anarchists and Antifascists, together with their Ukrainian comrades, Leshiy was there to fight the Russian state and Russian imperialism.

BOAK has been active in reisting authoritarianism inside of Russia as well, documented in the Popular Front documentary "Partisan '22" (https://piped.video/1u1lXr1vShI) and in their writings, interviews, and reportbacks, available here: https://lib.edist.ro/category/author/anarcho-communist-combat-organization

Rest in power, Leshiy!

One of the founders of BOAK (armed anti-Putin partisans from Russia) has been killed in #Ukraine whilst fighting against Russian forces on the frontlines. I met this guy briefly on the outskirts of Kyiv. Very friendly. He fought Putin till the end. RIP Dmitry "Leshiy" Petrov🌹
