Interesting post last night that came with some light grade drama in #superstonk

OP posts this thread, it gets removed by a mod within 30 minutes or so, causing uproar in the subreddit, and then is promptly re-instated. All within about 90 minutes.

Then the post is marked as debunked, for actually a pretty good reason: the post used ChatGPT to back some claims and ChatGPT provided some false links to support the claims made. I agree that the ChatGPT stuff is not a valid source of corroborating information especially in this case.

However, in my opinion it was actually still a good post regardless even with some flaws.

#GMERICA is something but we don't know for sure what.

something is going on over at #BBBY but it's hard to say what

Either way, it has been an interesting case surrounding the mystery of #BBBY, GME, and Gmerica.

I can't fault people for being confused. I'm confused too!

There is a war going on among billionaires, fighting over billion dollar companies.

Some billionaires are trying to profit from BBBY's looming bankruptcy.

Other billionaires are taking the counter bet, trying to profit from the reality that maybe BBBY isn't going to go bankrupt.

This war is happening and retail plays a role.

Although I really don't know what will happen, what I will say is that I do believe that #BedBathAndBeyond is definitely not going bankrupt.

In this kind of zero-sum all-or-nothing war that is being played, the winning condition for one side necessarily is bankruptcy of the company.

I believe, for reasons, that bankruptcy is simply off the table, and therefore the side betting on a bankruptcy happening is going to lose.

I still don't know what is going to happen, but I should have been a little bit more careful with my words.

2 months later,

#BedBathAndBeyond files for voluntary Chapter 11 Bankruptcy "to implement an orderly wind down of its businesses while conducting a limited marketing process to solicit interest in one or more sales of some or all of its assets"

https://www.reddit.com/r/BBBY/comments/12w2j43/bed_bath_beyond_inc_files_voluntary_chapter_11/

Despite this current bankruptcy filing, I still don't believe it is game over at this point.

Mainstream financial media, and those on social media that are in alignment, push the narrative that it is undeniably game over, a clear victory for the opponents of the company (#shortsellers #nakedshorts, and their allies).

#BBBY subreddit continues to hold the view that a #merger or #acquisition or a carve-out of #buybuyBaby is inevitable.

if such an acquisition or similar significant transaction does happen, it may render this bankruptcy filing moot.

https://www.reddit.com/r/BBBY/comments/12xcntp/8k/

"The Company has filed motions with the Court seeking authority to market Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY as part of an auction pursuant to section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code. Alongside these efforts, the Company is also strategically managing inventory to preserve value. In the event of a successful sale, the Company will pivot away from any store closings needed to implement a transaction. The Company believes this dual-path process will best maximize value."
