Sabaah Z Jauhar-Rizvi@GWillow Same! I think watching foreign films with subtitles has helped my French too. Used to be fairly fluent 20 years ago and it’s helped me remember a lot. Even German films you can pick up on the language!
Brian Dear@GWillow Imagine if a cable news channel did something similar -- rather than try to fill each 24 hours with some news and a lot of talking head shows, just do news for 8-12 hours, and then 1-2 summary live news breaks overnight, but the rest of the time is news from other participating cable networks around the world, with subtitles as needed. So it'd be real 24-hr news, just not all from one newsroom.

Nick Wester@GWillow Did you ever watch Los Espookies? They subtitle the Spanish-speaking cast in English, but then also subtitle the English-speaking cast in Spanish! (Plus it is very funny. Always nice when something important is also something good!)
