Gareth LewinI really hate windows 10 and can't even fathom using windows 11. So I have been wondering (prompted by my friend Tal Darom thinking of getting a windows machine) how good linux gaming is now days? My steam deck literally plays every game I like and plays it well, does that translate to PC?
Matt Rudder@gareth I’ve been wondering the same. I’ve heard there are issues with games that use anti-cheat, like Destiny 2, which is the main thing preventing me from trying.
Cyrus Hall@gareth I've gone back to Linux only for about two and half years now. I don't tend to play AAA titles. Have found most indies to work great. Sometimes performance is a bit lower, so video card specs can be a bit off, but with a 2080 I haven't had many issues. The tradeoff of occasional minor inconvenience and not dealing with Windows BS has been more than worth it.
