Highest ever readings of atmospheric carbon dioxide in human history recorded

Greta Thunberg complains that this climate information was ‘close to completely unnoticed’ by the world’s media

@YorksBylines "In the last 11 years, from 2012 to 2022, China’s coastal sea levels were the highest since observations were first recorded... threatening about 45% of China’s population of around 1.4 billion, more than half of the country’s economic output and important metropolises including Shanghai, Tianjin and Shenzhen."

@YorksBylines Imagine if all the world’s major media outlets led each day’s coverage with a simple sentence, or headline:

“Today’s CO2 level was 425ppm” (or whatever the actual reading is)

It wouldn’t even need context, just the stated fact. Once a week or month, a bigger story could be done on what makes the level keep going up.

@grammasaurus @YorksBylines

They do this endlessly with stock quotes...and write 100 stories if it moves 1%.

@YorksBylines Beautiful picture. Very impressive.
@YorksBylines It is a climate emergency. Get your assignment from Greta Thunberg. The carbon dioxide level is at an 800,000 year high. This is bad. Where are the news articles? #GretaThunberg, #ClimateChange, #AtmosphericCO2, #DontLookUp
@YorksBylines It might be 450 by end of decade.
