The right wing idea of prepping is so fucking wild to me. Moving into the middle of nowhere with only a tiny handfull of people? To be self sufficient and to think of everyone outside as enemies that need to be killed?

I mean heterosexuals start hating each other in marriages so quickly - how do you think complete social isolation and living in a fucking bunker adds to this???

Also I just love how the best response to an apocalypse they can come up with can literally be fucked with by just... Idk... Putting a chair under the handle from the outside or whatever....

I am also not a fan of any ideology that argues with inescapable doom. There is often the question of: are we living after, during or before the apocalypse?

All of the above. Apocalypse needs to be thought of as not a singular event or time span everyone experiences everywhere but a million deaths, a million abusive households, a million bodies violated.

Is not every femicide an apocalypse?

This world feels postapocalyptic, seeing it's random order through the eyes of someone who's humanity was shattered through an act of violence. Usually this is not considered big enough of a doomsday event to count - even though any apocalyptic fantasy pales in comparison to having an actual monster live in your home.

Okay maybe on a more positive note: collectivists should talk more about what we would "bring" to an apocalypse. You need community to survive. I strongly believe every single person brings something to make a community better*. This could be a skill, a story, an experience, a talent or whatever else. The idea that you need to be able-bodied, neurotypical and eager to shoot stuff is bullshit.

I would bring: solid conflict resolution skills and a metric ton of patience, basic first aid skills (physical and psychological), I love to cook for many people and am quite good at it and if the internet is down: an almost photographic memory of shitty memes and like 4 TV shows that I could describe in great detail if y'all get bored.
And because I enjoy being a stereotypical dyke I can do almost anything from cutting hair to welding, from whistling on two fingers to fixing electrical appliances plus I love to skill share.

Dream bigger for futures societies. Leave the bunker bullshit behind.

* which obviously does not mean that people cannot endanger communities with their behaviour. This will still happen forever and exclusion needs to be an option.
