A ★★½ review of Hitler- Dead or Alive (1942)

Weird early propaganda film. A wealthy American scientist places a million dollar bounty on Hitler after his brother was murdered by the Gestapo. A trio of gangsters led by Ward Bond take up his contract (they actually get a signed contract!). The gangsters skip to Canada, join the Canadian Army, and become paratroopers. They bail out (along with a pilot) over Europe and pretend to surrender and offer info for Hitler's ears only. Most of the film is lighthearted until Bond learns about Nazi war crimes.
