@podfeet #regarding the ethics of being in the student organization, is it OK to steal the text file from bill that's called breakfast menu items that text? I know you said don't step on anybody else's toes, but I just want to steal it so that I don't have to retype it. Is that OK as long as I do it in my own folder?
@edhowland ah - that’s the POINT of this. When you clone the repo to your own desktop, you have everyone’s files. Don’t MOVE his file to yours, copy it. Then let’s say you edit your shell script. When you push the repo back to the server, your changed shell script (and the copy of Bill’s menu) will be pushed back up to the server. Understanding how Git works is critical to using this repo without breaking other people’s stuff.
