A ★★★★ review of Go for Broke! (1951)

This is the story of the 442nd which was composed of loyal Japanese-Americans (at the same time as the internment camps). While the film does mention the numerous commendations, it fails to recognize them as the most decorated unit of all time. Despite heavily cliched script (racist white guy learns he is wrong...), it's worth watching. I'll admit my bias (an uncle served in the 442) but this beats racist propaganda films like AIR FORCE. Traditional viewing for me on Veteran's Day and Memorial Day.
