Texas Senate votes to defund libraries where drag queens read to kids
The Senate expanded the bill targeting drag queen story hours before two Democrats joined Republicans in advancing it. The upper chamber also gave preliminary approval to a bill limiting other drag performances kids can see.

What an epic waste.

It’s not about drag shows (or bathrooms) it’s about shutting down LGBT+ community places and making it illegal to exist as a transgender person in public spaces. And illegal means jailable, fine-able, and able to be involuntarily committed to a mental health facility. All of which can be used to deny gender-affirming care.
That these laws also make certain theater productions illegal is a feature, not a bug.
