My husband left the house at 4.30 am today in an attempt to photograph the moon as it set behind a monument on this cliff. Unfortunately there was too much haze to capture the shot with a telephoto lens, which would have given a tightly cropped very large moon view.

He opted for this wider landscape scene of #TennysonDown on the #IsleofWight instead.

He does already have the telephoto shot in the bag several times over and I liked how the cloud bank slices the moon in two here! #photography

@sharongascoigne This is spectacular. Thank you for getting up so early so we can enjoy it. I would dearly love to have a screen at home to put up such images in high resolution. I would even pay. When living abroad, to see such beauty of home means a great deal.
