Giant’s Ring Neolithic monument near Belfast. Dated c 2700BC It’s surrounded by a prehistoric ‘henge’ enclosure around 200 metres in diameter, with a dolmen in the middle.
The small passage tomb is made up of 5 standing stones and a large capstone. It’s located in the middle of farmlands in the Minnowburn area of Lagan valley. Really picturesque but hard to get to without a car!

@ellyjohnston was quite cool to go see. Small, but clearly some clever engineering to arrange those heavy stones. Nice walk from Shaws Bridge too if the weather is good!
@sldrant you’re one of the few who actually made it! I walk my dogs there as it’s only 10 mins by car from my home. For an important archaeological site it’s poorly served by public transport. There’s a lovely walk over by the Minnowburn with great views over the Lagan Valley
@ellyjohnston I think we maybe did some of that walk. It was beautiful, but the weather was perfect for us that day
