I finished Ghost of Tsushima. It’s a good game, but it suffers from open world syndrome. Wayyyy too many repetitive activities of the same kind, and the quests are basically formulated on 3 templates only. Otherwise, it’s beautiful, poetic, has an interesting story and good characters.
Some animations feel janky, especially for climbing around, but the combat is absolutely wonderful.

@thelinuxEXP I agree. I have to get back to it at some point. But these open world games exhaust me too much to get through them without a break.
@uzayran Yes! I like being able to roam freely, but at some point, too much stuff isn’t a « plus Â», it becomes a negative. I’d rather they made the world smaller, with less of the same activities, but better written quests, or more varied things to do.
@thelinuxEXP If I play open world games, I also have to have a much shorter game (or at least a more directed one) on the side, or I will get fatigued.
@SylverW Same here. All open world is just exhausting
@thelinuxEXP I was really enjoying it but got bored eventually on Act II. For me the main issue was that the main story was… boring. I couldn’t care about any of the characters. The repetitive open world stuff was kinda fun, which is why it took me like 20h+ to finish Act I
@fantinel I liked the story, but completing every activity in Act 1 almost burned me out entirely. I managed to get back into it later, but it would have been a better game with half the side activities
@thelinuxEXP yeah that's a sin almost every open world game commits. I recently played through an open-world game with wizards and it had the same problem of being simply too bloated with random stuff to do. It's the Ubisoft approach I guess
@fantinel Yeah, I wouldn’t have a problem of these activities were different in a significant way, but there’s only so many times you can follow a fox around or climb a tower before it becomes super boring…
@thelinuxEXP I am not finished yet, but near the end.
I love it so far. It's so beautiful and the story and characters are also very good.
@chrisonline I had a good time with it, but it’s SO repetitive!
@thelinuxEXP i had some issues with the game, but overall the game was good. Story was good, petting the fox was cute... It was my second plat on the PS4.
