@Jgmeadows @breadandcircuses @whitepineswhisper I would disagree. I think most people who are concerned about climate change are doing what they think they can, but also aren't doing the math on what it would really take, e.g. reduced demand, etc. Hard to convince even good people that their lifestyle may be unsustainable, or what they can actually do about it. Easier to put the blinders on and keep driving 100 miles a day on the fresh pavement in the shiny EV.

I have opted not to replace my 12 year old low gas mileage pickup with an ev because since i bought it 10 years ago i have averaged under 20 miles/day. The fuel burned building me an efficient replacement would far exceed any i would avoid burning. Plus most of my mileage is on refurbishing bicycles for people needing transportation. I believe my logic is sound. Unfortunately, everyone commuting in 5 mph traffic in a short-schoolbus-sized suv will rationalize how THEY are unique too.

@dbc3 I live in the subarctic so my whole lifestyle is likely unsustainable, but I hear you. I commute in a tiny used car, average about 36 MPG, but still responsible for about six tons of carbon dioxide a year. 💔

I'm also film shooter. Using 30-80 year old cameras, but chemistry, silver extraction, cows for the gelatin, it all adds up.
