I realize I’m going to make a lot of posts here about how criminal it was that Deadpool vol. 7 got cancelled. @KellyThompson is so freaking funny. She introduced me to Jeff and I’ll always lover her (and Jeff!) for it. In conclusion, I really liked #3.

#Marauders vol. 1 #8 Finally follows up with #CaptainKate’s fate from #6. I like how they treat the discovery of her body, not showing it in full, really giving the moment weight and resonance. Iceman gets a cool moment in this ish. I always feel the need to point these out since I don’t really like him usually, lol. And I love #EmmaFrost and #Storm comforting each other. This era of comics has been really good for seeing strong female characters support each other instead of fight all the time…

I love all these ♦️Sinister Secrets throughout the Kroakoa era. We are still getting them. There aren’t too many things to go through here.

#16 Shade: Shadow Cat. Power move: Shaw killing Kate. Sinister is just bitter .

#17 makes references to a new costume from Jumbo Carnation, probably Quentin Quire. He gets a new outfit later on.

#18 Stinger is preggers. Not sure what the ‘secret’ is.

#19 Sinister in making clones! Were the writers were gearing up for Sins of Sinister back in 2020?

Marvel’s Voices vol. 1 was definitely something I was excited about when I first heard about it, but I’m not sure if this ish really delivered. My gripe is mostly how short each story was. Most of them were one page, which equates to being less of a story and more a reflection on a character while an artists plays around with the layout. I did think it was cute that the Children of the Atom made a cameo here (we’ll talk about that ill-fated series later).

The other thing that drives me nuts about this series in general is how every ish is #1, even when they have the same subtitle. It’s so confusing to have two comics in your collection called Marvel’s Voices Pride #1 and they’re not even the same comic! Best is the story in here with Goddess (Spider-Hulk) has stayed with me for the last three years and haunts my nightmares. Worst is #SheHulk’s blatant disregard for law and custody. She’d be in prison after a stunt like that… #Wolverine #Marvel

New Mutants vol. 4 #7 is the last ish in Jonathan Hickman’s scattered run. It’s both meta and heartwarming. I think the page with instructions to roll dice to play out the fight was brilliant. I’m kinda boring with all the nice things I wanna say about it. Hickman should come back and do four more…
