Elizabeth Tai | 戴秀铃 🇲🇾Tried to convince some #Twitter friends to leave it for #Mastodon. I didn't use the "Elon is evil" thing cos most #Malaysians cannot compute why you should leave for that reason nor care about Elon being evil.
I, instead, tried to convince them that Twitter is literally falling apart, but most did not believe me, and those who think that's gonna happen think it's too much trouble learning a new #SocialMedia.
Now, before you go attack these folks' support of facism et al ...
... leaving a #socialmedia site for ideological reasons is a VERY first-world view. Most folks in #SouthEastAsia don't care a hoot about ideology. They care about ease of use, features & connectivity. Despite #Twitter's crumbly service, it is *enough* functionality for most to remain.
#Mastodon is still too complicated for most layfolks - only cos many access social med from their phones, not computers. I know it's hard for #tech folks like us to understand, but it's true.
