Yesterday afternoon I got an e-mail from NERC and I was excited, I was being asked to review proposals from the same funding stream that supported the work in the Outer Hebrides.

Alas as I read on, I would be sent the proposals on April 3rd with responses by April 20th. I have no issue with a 2 week turnaround, but those 2 weeks clash with the school Easter Holidays and I am on leave and away with my family.

It's a shame to say no, but as a #WorkingParent with a school aged child, the school holidays are my main holiday time.

I've e-mailed to say no, explaining why and that I would have loved to go involved. Fingers crossed they check #school holiday times in future!
