@FishermansEnemy seriously... Haven't you heard of the concept of privacy. You could have at least put him in a DM.. 🤪
I use my domains..... kinda
@FishermansEnemy

@FishermansEnemy
He's staring into my soul.

I currently have… 4? domains that don't have active projects attached to them. One of those should be receiving its site any day now, though.

@FishermansEnemy @quintessence
I sat on https://wookieepedia.org for several years before this guy pointed at me. One Thanksgiving break later….
Main Page - Wookieepedia, the hirsute encyclopedia

@FishermansEnemy you should have put a content warning on this. I feel attacked.
@FishermansEnemy I think this comic might be in violation of the GDPR. Just saying.
@FishermansEnemy my domain is well used for… an empty landing page!
@FishermansEnemy fortunately I have a netlify site that can use a domain if I get one.
@FishermansEnemy Hey, I use... more than half of those domains
@FishermansEnemy I feel called out, I swear I’ll use them someday
@FishermansEnemy hey look two of them expire in 3 less than 30 days and the others are for my kid.
@FishermansEnemy goddamn that's a good reminder to point the DNS to the new server, thanks
@FishermansEnemy hey... I use my website...!
@FishermansEnemy Yeah I had to shut down my site for a couple years, only to find someone took my .com and is selling it for thousands. >.>
@FishermansEnemy 💀
Just because depression killed my websites and GDPR made me nuke them from the internet "just in case" doesn't mean I'll let domain grabbers use them for their scummy stuff... That are ~7€/domain/year well invested.
@FishermansEnemy @bigzaphod Joke’s on him: he doesn’t have enough fingers for the domains I’ve got sitting.
@FishermansEnemy I'm in this picture and I don't like it

@FishermansEnemy I have several I keep thinking I should let expire, but I'm sure there are still links to them somewhere.

At least that's what I tell myself every time one comes up for renewal.

@FishermansEnemy You didn’t have to call me out this way.

@FishermansEnemy So at first I thought the shame was directed at people paying for unused domains, because there was some magical way of *not paying* for them somehow. Like just squatting on them by doing some sort of DNS trickery.

That I could have gotten excited about. Because fuck the for-profit registry companies.

@FishermansEnemy Yeah... at least I did for a while, and will again when I have a stable source of income.

@FishermansEnemy I plead guilty as charged.

Automatic renewals are my way of reminding me of that side project I wanted to do for years...

@FishermansEnemy i dont pay but i dont use xD
