According to the Center for Open Science, more than 300 journals already offer this format, up from around 200 in 2019. But despite having been around for a while, Registered Reports are still not widely known — or widely understood — among researchers. This must change. And, at Nature, we want to play a part in changing it."
Nature introduces Registered Reports as an article type for cognitive neuroscience and the behavioural and social sciences. This approach assesses the research question and methods over the results, to help tackle the publication bias against negative results.
