Many thanks to @haq for pointing out to me that I mis-identified those geese yesterday. I’m no twitcher but I should have checked - those particular geese are probably Greylag. Canada Geese are found on Scotland but most likely in Dumfries and Galloway as residents. Some things remain, there are similarities and they did protest noisily. I’m going to get better at identifying wild birds. Sorry.

@ChaHarper @haq @bobharp @FallsMom The easiest way to verify if they are Canada geese: Canada geese will always be asking for the way to the nearest Tim Hortons.

@ChaHarper
They indeed look like Greylag Geese to me.
@Orewoet Aye. I should have checked.

@ChaHarper Eventhough I knew the species and its name, I still managed to write down the wrong name of a bird in tweets a couple of times.

It's like calling your children sometimes... of course you know their names, but somehow, sometimes, the sound coming out of your mouth is not the correct one 🙂

@ChaHarper @bobharp @FallsMom Anyone who moves any distance will encounter new things.

I have the dubious advantage of having grown up with the domestic descendants of greylags in the farmyard and meeting Canada geese in town parks so they're recognisable.
