Is there an app as complete as Google Maps that could replace it?

By complete, I mean an app that shows vector data, imagery, has performant search and tinerary engines, and (icing on the cake) could show bonus data like info about amenities, traffic, etc.

@jeremy I usually use #OsmAnd and #OrganicMaps which are based on #OpenStreetMap. Their search may not be as good, but it's pretty good and has other features that make them more useful for me (such as configuring basemap or select which pois I want to see. Not to mention that both are #FLOSS

@ccamara

Have you tried #Acastus Photon as a companion app / search front-end for #OsmAnd / #OrganicMaps ?

@jeremy

@gowin @jeremy I didn't know about it. Is the search any better than osmand or organic maps?

@ccamara
Often, much better search results than internal search function, especially with POIs.

@jeremy

@gowin @jeremy 👍 installing
@ccamara Thanks for the suggestion @gowin, I didn't know about this app. Let's try it!
@jeremy @gowin I see it uses #photon which is the best geocoder using osm data I've used so far
@ccamara @gowin Yeah just finding out as well. ElasticSearch based. Makes sense!
