So just watched the preview clip of “Bad Cinderella” on Broadway — and had to immediately dig up some clips of Carrie Hope Fletcher in the role in London as a brain cleanse.

I had been super excited for this to move to Broadway, but they’ve stripped out so much of what had excited me for it.

@kat I mean, yes, but for very different reasons from what I’m seeing.

The West End’s Cinderella’s “style all her own” included wearing docs and actually was visually distinguishable from the townsfolk and mapped well to the sort of counterculture that this protagonist version seems to be being written as.

The Broadway version Cinderella reminds me of nothing so much as the “hot girl” style from “She’s All That” and “10 Things I Hate About You” era?

@kat The trash fire of the west end version was largely — by my understanding — based on ALW being a rather horrid human being.
