Ian Hunt@slnieckar Pat Barker is an incredibly brilliant writer whose work does not shout or show off its careful narrative complexities and intelligence. The writing is lucid but the implications are not. I have read everything up to the Regeneration trilogy -- just re-read Blow Your House Down. Sure the rest is good too. I have a small theory she is one of the best respondents to TS Eliot.
