Hey folks. Just upgraded the server to v4.1.0. I thought there was supposed to be a feature for editing alt-text in this version, but I am not see how to access it. Any advice? #MastodonUpgrade #AltText

Yeah you should be able to make a post with media attached , then edit the post and have the ability to edit the image description and thumbnail focal point.

@hybridhavoc Have you tested it? I wasn't able to edit alt-text when I was editing a post. I am assuming I am being dense, but it I don't see how to edit the alt-text.

@3eyedcrow Yep, just tested again several times in a DM. I tried to @ you in it after the fact, but not sure how well it handles adding someone to an @ only message as an edit.

@hybridhavoc Huh, thanks. I'll have to investigate further. I'm not seeing any option to edit alt text. At least now I know the problem is me. That's half the battle.

Hey just recorded a quick demo of editing a post to edit #AltText on an image. Sort of a low-res recording unfortunately since I didn't change it away from stream quality, but I think it should be possible to make out the steps.

@hybridhavoc Thanks for posting this. That edit button isn't appearing in the upper right hand corner of the image for me. So I guess I did something wrong when I updated the instance. I'll have to figure that out later when I have more time.
