Some days I swear that half the time I use clipboard history (WIN + V) just to remember what I was doing
@JenMsft my favorite is CTRL+SHIFT+V to paste without formatting, not system-wide, but at least electron apps like Teams and browsers support it 😎
@devlead @JenMsft The biggest annoyance of the entire copy and paste system is that shortcut doesn't work everywhere.
@JenMsft that shortcut and Win + Shift + S are productivity special powers
@JenMsft it's like opening the fridge!☺️
@JenMsft I do this but with alt+tab some times. Especially after having been interrupted by some Teams chat/meeting. πŸ™‚
@JenMsft How did I not know about this?! What ELSE don't I know about?!!
@JenMsft Well, today I learned clipboard history is a thing. Very cool!
@mjwires Yeah! We added it a while back based on feedback

@JenMsft I feel this post.

BTW, I have seen quite a few instances lately (Win11 up-to-date) of things I put in the clipboard, but they do not show up in the clipboard history. The item is still in the clipboard. Most often it is an IP address (reporting spam) or a URL. Any ideas? I am also occasionally seeing a "Call number" pop up when selecting/copying IP addresses so something may be interfering. Any ideas?

@JenMsft Hmm, that's a neat trick, haha... By 50, I swear I will suffer from full onset dementia by the looks of things... #goldfish

@JenMsft before clipboard history

Ctrl-C, Alt-Tab, Ctrl-V
Ctrl-C, Alt-Tab, Ctrl-V
Ctrl-C, Alt-Tab, Ctrl-V

After clipboard history

Ctrl-C, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-C
Alt-Tab
Win-V, Win-V, Win-V

@JenMsft I'd inadvertently copied something else and forgotten, then had the disappointment of seeing the wrong thing get pasted and knowing a small but tedious bit of effort would be required. But this post bounced around in the back of my mind and lo... delightful! πŸ‘
