Starting in v1.50, Brave will include a feature called "HTTPS by Default" that loads all sites over HTTPS for a more private and secure connection.

The browser will only fall back to HTTP if the site doesn't support HTTPS or is known to break over HTTPS. (1/3) https://brave.com/privacy-updates/22-https-by-default/

HTTPS by Default | Brave Browser

Starting in version 1.50, Brave will include a new feature called “HTTPS by Default” that improves Web security and privacy by increasing HTTPS use.

Brave Browser

Brave currently uses the HTTPS Everywhere list to determine which sites should be upgraded to HTTPS.

"HTTPS by Default" improves upon this approach by loading sites over HTTPS even when they're new or unknown. This increases HTTPS use and improves Web security and privacy. (2/3)

We believe that strong privacy should be enabled by default, so that all Web users, expert and beginner alike, can safely use the Web.

"HTTPS by Default" will be available on Android and Desktop versions of the Brave browser to begin with, with iOS coming later. (3/3)

@brave this is great news. I love the browser and I like to see @brave striving for security and privacy.
