Looking at last year's #FOSDEM videos to see if there's anything I want to catch up on before this weekend.

Dear presenters:
STOP USING ALL-TEXT SLIDES!

@steely_glint This particular toot, though it's sadly a regular refrain / rant if mine, was motivated by trying to watch your #fosdem2022 talk on 'The future of #WebRTC'. I'm sure it was very interesting if I'd been able to stick with it longer, but listening to someone read aloud wasn't fun at school either and makes it too easy to miss the actual additional information.
Maybe another time I'll make it!

@AlisonW yeah, I never really evolved a remote presentation style I got comfortable with. My normal thing of doing webRTC demos throughout the talk is almost impossible when the talk is being recorded by me or remotely via my computer. I also really miss an audience.

You should be able to skim the slides in a few mins and see if there is anything interesting for you there.

@steely_glint
Without people in the room with you it does become way more difficult, yes. Presenting well needs that feedback (snores aren't going to be picked up if viewers are muted!) and it's very limiting in what's possible too. Sorry if I sounded like I was getting at you, btw, you were just the first talk I opened!
(Yes, I skimmed but will revisit it too)
